Dream it.

Caleb and Melissa Lange, both raised on farms in New York and Vermont. There is nothing like an awakening farm in the dark hours of the morning. Nothing like witnessing the birth of a baby. Nothing like growing up with soil beneath bare feet.

Build it.

This land is now supporting the 5th generation of young farmers. There are seven of them, hugging pigs and catching frogs. There are messy days and very messy days, but that’s how we measure prosperity. As Proverbs 14:4 says, ‘The man who has oxen has a messy, messy barn, but the man without has a very tidy place.

Grow it.

Caleb and Melissa met at Clarkson University and got married their senior year. After graduating, they moved to Richmond, Virginia and started growing fruits and vegetables on a 1/4 acre plot in the city. In 2012 they moved to Fredericksburg, Virginia and turned their backyard into a chicken heaven. After eating the rooster, as required by the local game warden, they decided to focus on finding a place with more space. Caleb’s grandparents made Little Oxen Farm available, the decision was made to make the move back North. In 2019 Little Oxen Farm became home.
